Twitter & YouTube Makeover: Retools User Interface

Seems like changes are happening in the social realm. Both Twitter and YouTube have given profiles and channels a facelift.

Twitter Interface Update
Did Twitter just retool the user interface? I just noticed that the interface is updated and more functional. You can follow and unfollow Twitter users like before but now you can quickly mention @semfunny, block or direct message all on the same drop down. The interface even looks a little more futuristic. I like it!

Also available is the expanded and list view, so you don't have to look at all that spam on your Twitter Interface. You can look at only the users that you want. Excellent!

This on the heels of the YouTube new channel design. You can update your YouTube channel which offers a cleaner, more functional channel. Or you can wait until July 29, 2009 when you will be opted in.

Twitter Directory 2000
Also new on the Internet is Twitter Directory 2000. A Twitter Directory that offers users the ability to upload their user profile and all the information that comes with it including Google Pagerank and Backlinks to name a few.

Small Business Tax Time 2009

If you are ready to file your taxes and you have a small business make sure you get all the money back from the government that you deserve. Pick up a book at your local bookstore or visit the IRS official website.

Use of Home Deduction
You can deduct the use of your home from your taxes. Make sure it is a dedicated office, not a bedroom. You must conduct business at your residence to take this deduction.

Keep Receipts
Keep every receipt that you associate with your business. You don't want to get audited and not have those receipts. They will charge you interest on all unpaid taxes up to seven years back (ten is special cases).

Show a Profit
You can show a loss with your small business but the government wants to see a profit in your business during the first three years. If you lose money every year for the first three years they will categorize your small business as a hobby (then you are in deep water!).

Keep get records and take deductions that you know are acceptable. You don't want to get caught red handed and owe the government more money than you have in the bank.
